I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something that might make my audio even better. We've sent him a short clip in ProRes HQ, so he should let us know if it works or not. I'm not sure exactly what formats a 2K or a Resolve will take, but Codc quite sure that ProRes isn't among them.
September 12, I've searched the Avid site, but can't seem to find a link to download this codec. Simply transcoding the sequence into ProRes HQ won't add more quality to what's already there, I believe. This is for broadcast.

So the only thing I can figure is that your colorist wants a ProRes HQ Quicktime because it's relatively small and easy to move around, and that he's planning to have it converted to an uncompressed Quicktime or to a DPX sequence or what have you before grading it. I wonder if any one method produces better quality and is faster, as well. Is this workflow going to cause me quality loss? Yeah, the whole "render codec" thing in Final Cut 6 is a source of much confusion.

Is there anything I'm missing as coddec as making this file better. And what audio setting do you recommend in the compressor settings. You might try this: Visit my latest blog, "Concept to Creation" on the Avid Community site. You'll get better results than the other methods, I think. Recycle computers and electronics.
